Dr. Halista is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in the minimally invasive treatment of coronary artery disease and valvular heart conditions. Dr. Halista is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). His procedural focus includes minimally invasive, catheter-based therapies, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), mitral and tricuspid valve repair and replacement, left atrial appendage closure, percutaneous coronary intervention, and complex coronary interventions. Dr. Halista has also been involved in research throughout his training. He is published in several leading cardiovascular journals alongside some of the most influential figures in the field, including Valentin Fuster, Sripal Bangalore, and Peter Block. His research involves work pertaining to structural and coronary interventions, advanced heart failure, circulatory support devices, and peripheral vascular disease. He has presented his work nationally at meetings of the American College of Cardiology, Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics, and the Heart Failure Society of America. Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Halista earned his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City after obtaining his undergraduate degree at Emory University in Atlanta. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City before pursuing cardiovascular and interventional cardiology training at NYU, where he served as chief fellow during his interventional year. He then completed a dedicated Structural Heart Fellowship with Dr. John Vavalle at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before joining the South Florida Heart Institute team at Delray Medical Center. Dr. Halista is passionate about delivering the latest innovation in cardiovascular care with a patient-centered approach. By offering minimally invasive treatments for otherwise life- and lifestyle-limiting diseases, he hopes to maximize the quality of life of his patients and is dedicated to their success both in and out of the hospital.

My overall assessment is, this is one of the best hospitals in South Florida, probably in the state of Florida. I would compare it better than the Mayo Clinic which I've been to the Cleveland Clinic which I've been to and John Hopkins University Hospital. Delray medical is the best of the rest. The staff all works together seamlessly I believe they take somewhere around 120,000 steps a day, Each! Especially when they work 11 and 12 hours. I'm not only likely to recommend your practice but I have recommended it over all the other hospitals in South Florida, I believe Delray medical to be one of the best hospitals in the country. I've recommended it to a lady for her situation my brother for his situation. My nurse assistance name is taylor He helped me with every single thing gave me pointers how to put on my shirt right hand first and then the left hand that was used for the heart Cath. He made sure that I did not have a bleeding problem but tirelessly Friday night 830 he was in no hurry to leave. He did his job perfectly. What a personality. He said he didn't think he would like medicine now he's addicted The patients that he took with me is unprecedented. I'm 73 years old. I'm in relatively good shape. I had an ablation at the Cleveland Clinic in 2020 and drove the five hours to the Cleveland Clinic but I was never treated like I was at Delray medical and their teams. Taylor was not only taken care of me but several other patients that were elderly he took his time he got around to me, but he made sure that when the patient was ready to go. Dr. HALISTA certainly takes his time with every single person explains everything perfectly the physicians assistant.. In the office, (Richard)I did not remember their name as I was kind of out of it in surgery. I did not even recognize Dr. HALISTA what a personality he has, but even though I was loopy, I did identify I believe to be his main assistant, he wears a black scarf on his head. I didn't get Is His Name, but he is one serious guy. They're all serious. I guess when you go into somebody's heart, it's a serious situation. I wish I could've recognized the doctor but he's a different man when he's doing surgery he even looks different. Surgery went well. Arteries are fine no problems the Surgical assistance know their job and do it well they deserve just as much credit as everybody there I just can't remember their namesThank youRichard Szaks

There are no personal issues at that hospital. If the question asked personnel issues I saw none of those either if you're talking about personal security.Not only do they keep things private they pull the curtain around you at the surgical center everybody identifies you two or three times I don't know better security from the one at the front desk who offered me water to take the necessary, precautionary, prednisone, and Benadryl out of his own bottle of water so I could have a sip and take my pill on time one hour before surgery opened his bottle of water, filled up a cup, and I took my pillsThank youRichard Szaks,

Young lady at the front desk who checks you in as you enter the hospital, treat you perfectly the lady behind the desk in the cardiac unit and check you in waves that mean smiles Richard, who is Dr. Halista assistant ( One of many) He is so kind and so thorough as he takes the notes so the doctor can come in and read what medication I'm on they double check everything I saw Richard. We have the same name so we're friends everybody there is friendly not just in this department, but I also did cardio rehab and that team is awesome.Thank youRichard Szaks

Access was easy. It's on Linton, which is about a mile or so from my house. There's plenty of parking you walk in they know who you are. They make sure visitors have their drivers license and pass access to the registration area is right out front the convenience hours there there. Dr Halista was a welcome treat for me. Since moving into the area, I have not had good experience with new doctors. I was rushed out of the office frequently poor eye contact, and a sense of disinterest in my problems. Dr Halista was a total opposite he listened he cared. It was an extremely pleasant experience. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The doctor was superb came in listened, answered all my questions he made me feel very relaxed and confident in him. I will certainly recommend him. Apparently, you are running an outstanding practice cause there are a lot of good doctors in your practice that I couldn't get into, but I am very pleased with my choice.!! How many people could say all the doctors in a practice are good. You are a rarity.
