Pedro Hernandez-Frau, MD, epileptologist and board-certified neurologist with Palm Beach Neuroscience Institute (PBNI) brings years of experience in diagnosing and treating patients with epilepsy and seizures. My preference Is to remain, if possible, with Dr Hernandez-Frau, for as long as I am prescribed Briviact for seizure management. Dr Hernandez-Frau is familiar with the seizure medication (Briviact). Dr Boltz of SF Neurology Associates referred my case to Dr Hernandez Frau, due to reports of struggles (negative side effects) which I attribute to be medication-related, while being prescribed Levetiracetam for seizure management Dr Boltz, initially prescribed then current seizure medication - Levetiracetam. Having several discussions with Dr Boltz during periodic check-ins, from third quarter of 2024, when It appeared that I had a partial seizure ion 12-26-24 (urinating in bed and bite marks on outer tongue), which led to inpatient hospitalization to Delray Medical Center (DMC). The medical team, which included DMC medical staff and a physician from SF Neurology Associates) decided to place me back on Leviteracetam, Dr Boltz had taken me off Leviteracetam, due in part, to concerns expressed by my girlfriend, Brenda, and mainly due to my complaints of negative side effects while on seizure management medications, Including extreme fatigue, light headedness, rage. While I was on the seizure medication I was stable (without seizures), but dealing with negative side effects, due In part to being placed on Leviteracetam for seizure management. Out of an abundance of caution, Dr Boltz informed us (my girlfriend and me) that he was not familiar with Briviact, which had been previously recommended by Dr Colin Hill, the neuro-oncologist who follows my case at U Miami.Personally, I consider Dr Fred Boltz to be my primary care physician (PCP), because, hands down, Dr Boltz is most familiar with my case. I had several switches of PCP until finding Dr David Seltzer of NYU Langune who is a recent change. Dr Boltz was the physician who first discovered that I had a brain tumor and walked me through this whole experience. Dr Boltz referred us to Dr Hernandez-Frau, to help with the switch to Briviact. I am very grateful to Dr Boltz, because I am having less negative symptoms now on Briviact. Feeling mucWith that said, I do appreciate the care that Dr Pedro Hernandez-Frau provided too.In light of the fact that Dr Hernandez-Frau has medical cases on Briviact, and the fact I will remain on Briviact for the foreseeable future, After discussing with my girlfriend and thoughtful reflection, It Is my request, If possible to remain under Dr Hernandez-Frau care (for seizure management only), while prescribed Briviact for seizure management. Dr Hernandez-Frau provided a very careful switch to Briviact, which I do greatly appreciate. Since the switch to Briviact, the best news is that I have less negative symptoms, began to swim for fitness, because of all the fatigue I was dealing with, and most Importantly remain seizure-free, no readmissions to hospitals, due to seizures. However, since the switch to Briviact, I continue to deal with fatigue, but significant reduction with rage. Can deal with fatigue, and take daily naps, which has been beneficial thing to do to cope with symptoms of fatigue. Bottom line is that I remain with Dr Hernandez - Frau for as long as I must take Briviact for seizures, if possible. Thank you to Dr Boltz and to Dr Hernandez-Frau. I know I am getting the best care possible by Dr Boltz and Dr Hernandez-Frau. They make a great team. Respectfully, Andy Cassell

When my son was very sick one time he did not hesitate to tell me what I needed how to get it and he made sure that I had everything right.
