Dec 18, 2024

Tyler Sherrill, MBA, is appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Florida Coast Medical Center as of December 2024. In this role, Sherrill will be responsible for overseeing the opening, development, strategic growth and operations of the hospital - which is scheduled to open in September 2025.

Tyler most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer of East Cooper Medical Center in South Carolina. Prior to that, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Tenet Healthcare’s South Carolina Physician Group, where he played an integral role in access expansion, physician recruitment, and operational excellence throughout the state. Before his time with Tenet, Sherrill spent ten years with Community Health Systems, ending his time there as Vice President of Physician Practice Operations. Tyler earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee before receiving his MBA from King University in Knoxville, TN.

“Tyler is a steadfast hospital leader who knows how to build strong relationships and run efficient hospital operations.” said Group President for Tenet Healthcare, Maggie Gill. “With Tyler’s background and experience, he is well-poised to make the vision of Florida Coast Medical Center a reality and provide the Treasure Coast community new access to high-quality care.”

Florida Coast Medical Center will be a 185,000-square-foot, 54-bed facility. The hospital will expand healthcare options and jobs in the Port St. Lucie, an area already known for its rapidly growing population. Specialized services for the hospital will include 24-hour emergency care, neurosciences, orthopedics, spine, robotics, general surgery, urology, advanced cardiac care and diagnostic services.
