Delray Medical Center Introduces Next Generation, Non-Invasive Treatment for Movement Disorders

Jan 10, 2025

Delray Medical Center is announcing today the acquisition of the Exablate Prime system, a state-of-the-art technology that offers incisionless treatment for movement disorders such as essential tremor and Parkinson’s disease. This advanced platform utilizes focused ultrasound guided by MRI to precisely target and remove affected areas in the brain, providing patients with a non-invasive surgery option.

“We are committed to bringing the latest medical innovations to our community,” said Heather Havericak, CEO of Delray Medical Center. “The Exablate Prime system enhances our ability to provide top-tier, non-invasive treatment options for patients suffering from debilitating movement disorders. This is brain surgery without cutting into the brain.”

“The precision and safety of the Exablate Prime system represent a significant advancement in neurosurgery,” said Dr. Lloyd Zucker, Chief of Neurosurgery at Delray Medical Center. “By offering an outpatient, incisionless procedure, while utilizing some of the latest technologies, we can improve patient outcomes and reduce recovery times for those battling conditions like essential tremor.”

The Exablate Prime system, developed by Insightec, has transformed the landscape of neurosurgical treatments by providing a non-invasive alternative to traditional brain surgery. Patients typically experience immediate therapeutic effects with minimal complications, allowing them to return home the same day.

This next generation system integrates intelligent algorithms, autogenerated patient reports, data management, and reporting power to allow for advanced and intuitive surgical planning and sonification, which all makes the process faster and more accurate.

Delray Medical Center’s investment in this technology underscores its dedication to adopting innovative solutions that improve patient care and quality of life.
