Good Samaritan Medical Center Names Austin Champoux Chief Operating Officer
Jan 17, 2025Good Samaritan Medical Center names Austin Champoux, MHA, MIB, to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Champoux returns to Palm Beach Health Network and Good Samaritan Medical Center, where he previously held the position of Administrative Fellow, before his promotion to Associate Administrator.
“Austin has a proven track record of success in hospital operations, streamlining care and using hospital resources efficiently and effectively to ensure every patient receives the best possible care,” said Sheri Montgomery, the hospital’s CEO. “Austin is known for promoting a culture of integrity and accountability, which will help maintain Good Samaritan Medical Center as a healthcare provider that the community can rely on and trust.”
During his time at Good Samaritan Medical Center, Champoux led the construction oversight of the freestanding emergency department, Victor Farris surgery center and the sterile processing department. He formulated and executed the strategic partnership with Lilly Pulitzer providing an upscale delivery experience for expecting families, as well as the development of our genetics program to round out our cancer services.
Over the course of his career, Champoux has played a key role in strategic planning for new services. He returns to Good Samaritan Medical Center from Palmetto General Hospital in Miami where he has been serving as the hospital’s COO. While there, he focused on improving patient satisfaction, implementing lean methodologies for improved efficiencies and reducing operational cost. Champoux had organizational oversight of most ancillary areas including radiology, plant operations, pharmacy and environmental services.
In addition, he served as the COO of North Shore Medical Center in Miami, and as the Assistant Chief Executive Officer of Shore Point Health on the west coast of Florida.
Champoux holds a Masters in both healthcare administration and international business from the University of Florida as well as Bachelor of Science in business administration.
