Florida Coast Medical Center Announces Inaugural Governing Board

Florida Coast Medical Center, the highly anticipated new hospital scheduled to open in Port St. Lucie this September, has officially named its inaugural Governing Board. This diverse and accomplished group of leaders will play a vital role in guiding the hospital’s mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to the Treasure Coast community.

The board brings together a blend of medical, public safety, and civic leadership, reflecting the collaborative approach Florida Coast Medical Center is taking to healthcare innovation and access with local leadership guidance.

The inaugural board members include:

  • Dr. William Carlson, Board Chair – Orthopedic Surgeon, South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine
  • Dr. Phillip Moyer, Vice Chair – General Surgeon, Tenet Physician Resources (TPR)
  • Dr. Eric Lieberman – National and Regional Director of Cardiology, Tenet Healthcare and Chief Medical Officer, Palm Beach Health Network
  • Libby Flippo – Community Member and Former Chief Nursing Officer, Palm Beach Health Network
  • Dr. Joseph Gage, Chief of Staff – Stuart Cardiology Group
  • Shannon Martin – Mayor, City of Port St. Lucie
  • Ron Guerrero – Director, St. Lucie County Public Safety Department
  • Maggie Gill – Group President, Tenet Healthcare
  • Tyler Sherill – CEO, Florida Coast Medical Center

The Governing Board will provide oversight and strategic direction for the hospital’s clinical programs, operational performance, and community engagement, ensuring Florida Coast Medical Center remains responsive to the needs of its patients and the broader St. Lucie County community.

About Florida Coast Medical Center

Florida Coast Medical Center is a state-of-the-art healthcare facility set to open in September 2025 in Port St. Lucie. Conveniently located near Florida’s Turnpike off Becker Road at 310 SE Veranda Falls Way, the hospital will offer comprehensive medical services in a modern, patient-centered environment.

This $200 million, 220,000-square-foot facility will feature 54 private patient rooms, 24-hour emergency care, and specialized services including neurosciences, orthopedics, spine care, robotics, general surgery, urology, and advanced cardiac care. In addition to inpatient care, patients will have access to outpatient surgical services, imaging, and physician offices to support their ongoing healthcare needs.

The hospital is the 6th standalone hospital in the Palm Beach Health Network.
