Delray Medical Center is the first hospital in Southern Palm Beach County to complete a procedure utilizing the Aliya ® Pulsed Electric Field Using INUMI ™ Flex Endoscope Needle for Soft Tissue Ablation. The milestone procedure was completed by advanced bronchoscopist Dr. Stephen Milan.

The Aliya® PEF with the INUMI Flex Needle delivers high-voltage, high-frequency electrical currents endoscopically to the target lesion. The PEF energy disrupts the transmembrane potential of the cell, destabilizing the cell, and resulting in non-thermal cell death, while preserving the surrounding healthy tissue.

“This innovative technique is unlike anything we’ve seen,” said Dr. Milan. “Early clinical studies suggest the potential for releasing antigens that may stimulate an immune response. We are excited to be one of the first healthcare systems to offer this technology.”

The Aliya System and the INUMI Flex needle are 510(k) cleared in the United States for the surgical ablation of soft tissue. They are not currently commercially available in any other geography.
