Delray Medical Center First Hospital in Southeastern US to Complete First Spine Case with Medivis’ Augmented Reality Spine Navigation Technology

Nov 6, 2025

Delray Medical Center is the first hospital in the Southeastern United States to utilize the Medivis augmented reality spine navigation system in a procedure. Delray Medical Center has partnered with Medivis, a leader in augmented reality and artificial intelligence for surgical applications, to bring surgical innovation and excellence to physicians and patients alike. The milestone procedure was completed by neurosurgeon and Chief of Neurosurgery, Dr. Lloyd Zucker.

The Medivis Spine Navigation System seamlessly integrates with existing surgical workflows, utilizing AR to project patient-specific 3D holographic images directly onto the surgical field. A revolutionary spatial targeting UI, combined with AI segmentation, implant simulation, and 3D rendering of the spine, enables surgeons to quickly and accurately place screws, enhancing precision and efficiency.

“We are thrilled to integrate Medivis’ Spine Navigation technology into our operating rooms,” said Heather Havericak, Delray Medical Center’s CEO. “This partnership aligns with our commitment to delivering the highest standard of care and improving patient outcomes through the latest innovations in medical technology.”

“The Medivis augmented reality system gives us an unprecedented level of visibility and precision during spine procedures,” said Dr. Zucker. “Being able to visualize patient-specific 3D anatomy in real time enhances surgical accuracy, efficiency, and ultimately, patient outcomes. This is a transformative step forward in spine surgery, and I’m proud Delray Medical Center is leading the way.”

The adoption of Medivis’ Spine Navigation technology represents a major advancement in the hospital's commitment to delivering the highest standard of care.
