"It was scary, very scary," Stephen Garito said, recalling the incident.

Maria Garito had seen the acronym F-A-S-T on TV, which stands for face drooping, arm weakness or numbness, slurred speech, and time to call 911 immediately.

"I had a feeling it was something I had seen on TV, the acronym for having a stroke," Maria Garito said.
