How Nanofat Can Treat Radiation Fibrosis
Nov 10, 2025From CBS 12 News: Good Samaritan doctor uses regenerative therapy to help cancer survivors heal
Wellington resident Victor Connor thought he’d left cancer behind after surviving stage four throat cancer. What he didn’t expect were the lasting side effects from radiation.
“The cancer doctors cure your cancer. When they’re done, they’re done. They don’t talk about what’s going to happen five years or ten years later,” Connor said.
Radiation fibrosis, scar tissue that builds up over time, has made it difficult for him to eat, move his neck, and even speak. He lost more than 100 pounds, not by choice, but because eating became painful.
“Unfortunately, there are times when, candidly, I’m afraid to eat,” he said. “You know you need to eat, but it’s going to hurt going down.”
Now, he’s getting help from Dr. Anastasiya Quimby, a head and neck oncology surgeon at #GoodSamaritanMedicalCenter in West Palm Beach. She’s using nanofat therapy, a regenerative treatment that uses a patient’s own cells to help the body heal itself.
