April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and all too often our caring medical team are the ones who discover a child has been abused. We are on the front lines, along with our area law enforcement and rescue agencies, as well as state agencies like the Department of Children and Families and Florida's Child Protection team.

It's why every April for the last six years, we have hosted "Goodnight to Child Abuse."

Chief of Pediatric Surgery, Dr. Anne Fischer, joined CBS 12 News to help raise awareness to combat child abuse and discuss the upcoming event.
