Local police use new law to crack down on 'super speeders'
St. Mary's Medical Center trauma surgeon Dr. Mario Rueda talked to TV station about driving safely to avoid serious injury.
“It is a daily routine thing. It's unfortunately one of the most common traumas in areas that we face every time I'm here,” Rueda said.
He can usually tell how fast drivers were going by how badly they're injured.
“The higher the speed, the more the energy and therefore the closer you are to death,” Rueda said.
