West Boca Medical Center Named A Top 10 Hospital In The Nation For Shoulder Replacements
Jun 25, 2026West Boca Medical Center has been recognized as one of the top 10 hospitals in the United States for shoulder replacement procedures, according to the 2026 Extremity Update published by Orthopedic Network News (ONN) and based on Medicare procedure volume data compiled through Dexur.com.
According to the report, West Boca Medical Center performed 252 Medicare inpatient and outpatient shoulder replacement procedures between October 2024 and September 2025, with approximately 90 percent performed in the outpatient setting.

The ONN report notes that shoulder replacement procedures are the third most commonly replaced joint in the country, following knee and hip replacements, and are growing at a rate of nearly seven percent annually. Reverse shoulder replacements alone are growing at more than 10 percent each year.
“This recognition reflects the dedication of our orthopedic surgeons, nurses, surgical teams and rehabilitation specialists who work together every day to deliver exceptional patient care,” said Jerad Hanlon, CEO of West Boca Medical Center. “To be ranked among the top shoulder replacement hospitals in the country is an incredible achievement and reinforces our commitment to bringing advanced orthopedic care and surgical innovation to our community.”
Shoulder replacement procedures may be recommended for patients experiencing severe arthritis, complex fractures, chronic pain, or significant rotator cuff damage. Advances in surgical techniques, technology and rehabilitation have helped many patients recover faster and regain mobility and quality of life.
“Shoulder replacement surgery has evolved tremendously over the last decade, allowing patients to return to activities with less pain and improved function,” said Dr. Jonathan Levy, a shoulder and elbow surgeon on staff at West Boca Medical Center and with the Levy Shoulder to Hand Center, apart of the Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute. “This recognition highlights the experience and collaboration of the entire orthopedic team at West Boca Medical Center and our shared focus on achieving outstanding outcomes for patients.”
