When you’re pregnant you are so excited to meet your baby and start your journey into motherhood, however you never want that journey to start too soon.

Charmaine Orridge Dennis feels blessed to have delivered her baby girl at St. Mary’s Medical Center but says that it can feel traumatizing when your baby comes unexpectedly early.

Her baby girl Rajeena arrived at 23 weeks. She weighed only 2 pounds, 1 ounce and spent three months and a couple of days in the NICU.

Charmaine said, “I would visit her every day bringing a positive attitude and a smile on my face.”

Charmaine explains she was able to remain positive because she had confidence that Rajeena was in the hands of excellent nurses and doctors.

“The NICU staff ensures that parents are comfortable and that the babies are well taken care of.”

Rajeena is doing excellent and has no health issues.

“She is a very smart child who is always giving mom and dad corrections.
