Hospital marks anniversary with expanded access to emergency, cardiovascular, orthopedic and advanced surgical care—and plans for continued campus growth

Florida Coast Medical Center is celebrating its first anniversary, marking one year since the hospital opened its doors as the first new hospital built on the Treasure Coast in more than a decade.

Since opening at 9 a.m. on Sept. 9, 2025, Florida Coast Medical Center has focused its growth around three commitments: creating a meaningful impact, building strong community partnerships and delivering high-quality, compassionate care. That approach has guided the development of key services, including emergency care, cardiovascular care, orthopedics, electrophysiology, vascular surgery, weight loss surgery, colorectal and general surgery, urology, spine and neurosurgery, and robotic-assisted procedures, based on the most significant healthcare needs of the rapidly growing Treasure Coast.

Florida Coast Medical Center’s 24-hour emergency department has served as an essential access point for the community, with an emphasis on short wait times, efficient evaluation and rapid coordination with inpatient and specialty teams.

“The Treasure Coast deserves exceptional care close to home, and our work is only beginning,” Sherrill said. “As this community grows, Florida Coast Medical Center will grow with it. Florida Coast Medical Center is located at 310 SE Veranda Falls Way in Port St. Lucie, near Becker Road and Florida’s Turnpike. The hospital is part of the Palm Beach Health Network, which includes seven hospitals serving Palm Beach and St. Lucie counties.
