WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. –^December 17, 2024 – Dr. Eduardo Parra Davila, a general, colorectal and bariatric surgeon, has completed more than 3,000 robotic surgeries, a major personal and professional milestone at Good Samaritan Medical Center.

With over 30 years of experience caring for patients, Dr. Parra-Davila is known for a robotic surgical approach that often avoids the need for open surgery, rather than operating through very small incisions, with the potential to minimize infection, pain, and recovery times. He specializes in bariatric weight loss surgery, hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction, colorectal cancer, diverticulitis, rectal prolapse, endometriosis, incontinence, hemorrhoids, gallbladder disease, hiatal hernia, and gastroesophageal reflux.

In addition to Dr. Parra-Davila performing surgeries in North America, he has also completed cases in Central America, South America, Asia, Australia, and Europe. He has also participated in numerous national and international conferences and trained thousands of surgeons in robotic and minimally invasive surgery around the world. He has participated in several research studies including robotic surgery in colorectal and abdominal wall reconstruction.

Dr. Parra-Dávila earned his medical degree from the Universidad de Los Andes School of Medicine in Merida, Venezuela. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. For his education and training, he completed two fellowships: one in Advanced Laparoscopic Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Texas Endosurgery Institute in San Antonio, Texas, and another fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Texas at Houston.
