From WPBF 25 News: Boynton Beach teen survives lightning strike, on the road to recovery

Kevin Sosa was playing soccer with his family when the sky turned cloudy, and light rain began to fall. Without warning, lightning struck him directly, sending him into cardiac arrest. His father immediately began CPR until paramedics arrived.

"He saved his son's life by starting the CPR. And it's still an emotional burden. That's why we're so excited to be here today," said Peter Antevy, EMS medical director.

Kevin was rushed to Delray Medical Center, where doctors said he remained unconscious for an extended period. Over the following weeks, he began making significant progress.

"So to see him up and walking and talking, it really is a testament to the pre-hospital care that he got, both from his parents and from the first responders," said Dr. Angela Jones, a surgeon who treated Kevin.
